Trump must stay far, far away from the Israel Iran conflict.
The current US President is an idiot who doesn’t know anything about Israel, Iran or the Middle East. He’s self interested, transactional and reactive. He can’t be educated. Stay away!
As of the moment of this writing NBC News reports that Israeli forces have attacked hundreds of locations in Iran. In a retaliatory counterattack directed at Israel, Iranian forces have launched hundreds of ballistic missiles.
Full scale war between the rival nations seems inevitable and the probability that this will escalate into a catastrophic regional conflict is an undesirable likelihood.
I’m not an expert on geopolitics, nor do I profess competence in the region.
On the other hand, I do know US politics and I know that the President of the United States, in normal times, is always expected to be the cooler head, the arbiter of peace, the global leader tasked with de-escalation of tensions.
This time, that cannot and must not be the case.
Donald Trump has no idea what the hell he’s doing. He couldn’t point to Tel Aviv on a map and he wouldn’t know Tehran from Islamabad from Xinjiang.
I can’t imagine that he knows about Sunni and Shiite Muslims. Even if he does, he’s certainly unaware that the distinction matters; that it matters a lot.
He’s uninformable, incapable of absorbing baseline, historical points of Israeli/Iranian conflict. It would even be a stretch to suggest that he’s able to extrapolate upon his simplistic talking points; Israel has a right to defend itself and Iran better sign onto his nuclear deal, or else.
With the exception of Marco Rubio there isn’t a soul in Trump’s cabinet or inner circle fit to advise him. Even Rubio, a former senior member of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, would do well to STFU. Liddle’ Marco exchanged his intellect, his conscience, his self esteem, his independence and his humanity for the title, “Secretary of State.” Donald owns Marco.
For the sake of global stability, Trump and his minions must stay as far away from this conflict as possible. Like he’s done with the war in Gaza and with the war in Ukraine, the current President of the United States would only exacerbate this new conflict.
Donald Trump is combustible. He’s political kerosene. He is the dumbest kind of rocket fuel that, if poured onto fallout from the missiles targeting Jerusalem or the drones hitting Tabriz, would ignite a regional inferno.
