New Name, paid and free subscriptions, same stuff and more of it!

Thanks so much for being one of the first 500 members of this amazing community. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you and your willingness to spend time together each week.

The new name for our community is Zenocracy. I was really looking for a name that would encapsulate my efforts to report and analyze political news of the day, keep a laser focus on the hypocritical ignorance of the Trump administration and integrate wellness tips to help avoid losing our minds.

I’m not sure that Zenocracy effectively communicates a propensity to frequently use the “F word.” Nor does it tease my relentless compulsion to magnify the village idiot’s super human stupidity. Nonetheless, it suggests a commitment to nurture well being while fighting to save our democracy.

Following the lead of so many Substack influencers, I opted to offer a paid subscription option. Paid subscriptions will afford me the resources to build this community into a fully functioning, independent news studio.

I don’t envision a news outlet like Meidas+, Zeteo, The Bulwark or Aaron Parnas’ media-sphere. They’re excellent, evolving, independent news platforms and they effectively fill that space.

As Zenocracy grows we intend to build up integrated, cutting edge technical and production resources to deliver aggressive, biting, no-holds-barred editorial content. That will always be counterbalanced with content that will help you make sense of it all; not just in terms of understanding the news, but also understanding how that news might affect you emotionally and spiritually.

It doesn’t end there. The intention is not to leave you hanging. Partnering with my wife’s (Ritu) wellness brand ZenaVibe, we’ll offer real world tips, advice and coping strategies from wellness and mental health experts.

It may take a little while to get there, but that’s the goal. In mean time, you’re going to see some cool cosmetic changes coming soon. The first of which will be an easy, accessible website address (Zenocracy.news). The second will be a minimalist Zenocracy logo. I’ll keep you posted.
