The village idiot announced a trade deal with the European Union that will have American consumers paying almost 14% more for imported goods. When Joe Biden left office US citizens paid about 1.2% tax on items from the EU.
On April 2, 2025, Trump’s Liberation Day, that tax went up to 10% and he threatened to further increase it to 15%.
Just about week ago, Donald threatened a 30% tariff if a deal wasn’t reached by August 1, almost a month after his 90 day-deal deadline (July 9) expired.
Thinking that he that outfoxed the lesser intellects in Europe, the village idiot proudly announced that the EU will not impose tariffs on US goods. Donald always thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room.
EU consumers will pay 0% taxes on US imports. US consumers will pay 15% on the EU imports.
Donald also claimed that EU is going to buy some military equipment. Nobody seems to be know what equipment is to be purchased and when it will be purchase.
Donald said, “the European Union is going to agree to purchase from the United States $750 billion worth of energy.” Perhaps they will, perhaps they won’t. At this point, nobody seems to know that either. Lastly, the stable genius announced that the EU will invest $600 billion in the US….into…well…something.
