Donald Trump is not a mastermind — he’s the most dangerous idiot of our time

Why despair is understandable, but surrender is a mistake when the threat isn’t genius, it’s incompetence backed by power

The village idiot, Donald Trump is terrorizing the innocent people of Minnesota. The village idiot, Donald Trump is getting people killed indiscriminately in Iran. The village idiot, Donald Trump is threatening to take Greenland by force. The village idiot, Donald Trump, an almost certain sexual abuser of underage girls, is desperately trying to keep the Epstein files under wraps. The village idiot, Donald Trump thinks that he’s the King of Venezuela and dreams of becoming the King of the Americas.

For many of you, it feels like the United States of America is a lost cause. It feels like things are spiraling so far out of control that American democracy will die before the midterm elections, let alone make it to the 2028 Presidential election.

I’m here to tell you that we’re far from a lost cause. Yes, Donald has access to immense power and he’s going to try to utilize every bit of it. Yes, he’s already done unthinkable damage to our nation and to the world.

He’s also a semi-functional, illiterate dingbat. The good citizens of the United States can out think, out wit, out maneuver and out last him.

Let’s remind ourselves that Donald is a bumbling imbecile. Every decision he makes is reactive, ill conceived and just plain stupid. He can’t read a teleprompter nor can he enunciate most words. He has no knowledge of any topic that he pretends to discuss. He lies whenever he speaks and, with few exceptions, can’t recall the details of the lie that he invented moments ago. If he’s Vladimir Putin’s useful idiot, he’s certainly America’s useless idiot.

The goofballs around Donald aren’t much smarter. They’re a little less dim than the mad king, but none, not one, has displayed even the slightest bit of intellectual prowess. The Oval Office braintrust never, ever has a actionable, strategic follow up plan for any policy, person or place that they stumble upon and fuck up. Like Trump, they’re incapable of coherently answering questions, about anything, at any time. The administrative high bars are all things crazy and ludicrous while the low bar is undefinable and bottomless.

Yes, this confederacy of dunces, halfwits, malcontents, addicts, crooks, rapists and murderers is powerful. If you hand a collaboration of nincompoops all the money in America and supply them with an army of untrained, mask wearing, lard-assed simpletons, this is what you get.

Of course, we’re well into the process of trying to figure out how to cope with and survive through the consequences of reelecting a shit for brains, whack job. Still, while we’re muddling along, we must keep in mind that we’re not up against an evil genius. We’re dealing with a once in a generation ignoramus who couldn’t be a character in Netflix comedy. It wouldn’t be funny because someone this dumb couldn’t possibly exist. Yet, Donald Trump is somehow a real thing.

Not only must we stop normalizing him, we must allow ourselves the latitude to call him what he really is. Then, he’s not so scary and certainly not someone who can take down the nation.
